You basically get set to a lower level if your level is higher than the intended level for the part of the zone. Finishing a zone grants you a chest that can have either a transmutation charge or a black lion key in addition to some materials and sometimes a high rarity equipment piece (not 100% sure on the last one).
Just go to world selection from the character select screen. It is 1800, 1000, 500 for very high, high and medium. The price is for the server you are moving to. It is absolutely possible as other folks have said here. My only caution is the lag can get really bad depending on where your friend is located.
The server (world) you choose only matters if you play WvW (World vs. World). The PvE is not based on your server choice. Some are specifically marked for DE, FR and ES (in the EU region). So basically all the servers without a language flag are mainly English speaking. But as said above, that doesn't matter for the open world PvE, dungeons
When you enter a map, you will not play on a "megaserver map" but on one of the many maps that has been populated with people from the megaserver - but not random people. If you are in a group, you will most likely end up on the same map instance as your groupmates, if in a guild you will end up in a map where others of your guild already are. /r/GuildWars2 is the primary community for Guild Wars 2 on Reddit. you will be able to change languages in your main settings, that would make the most sense :P
